Iran says war-damaged reconstruction is top priority at WUF13
Iran has defined reconstruction of war-damaged areas as its top national priority at present, ahead of any other urban development plans, Gholamreza Kazemian, Iran’s Deputy Minister of Urban Planning and Architecture, has stated at the WUF13 in Baku, Azerbaijan.
During a ministerial roundtable delivering a message on behalf of Iran’s Minister of Urban Planning and Architecture, Farzaneh Sadegh, he said providing practical and feasible solutions — from designing resilient housing to restoring energy, water and transport systems — will enable Iran to rebuild cities that are safer and more resilient for its children, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
Kazemian noted that Iran has made significant progress in promoting sustainable urban development through the expansion of urban infrastructure and poverty reduction, urban regeneration based on active community participation in underserved areas, as well as strengthening risk governance and climate resilience mechanisms, along with advancing renewable energy initiatives and “smart city” projects in cooperation with international partners.
