Iran warns Israeli TV channel of possible missile strike, urges immediate evacuation
The Iranian Armed Forces have issued a stark warning to the staff of Israel's Channel 14, calling on all employees to vacate the station’s facilities without delay.
The notice, reported by Iran’s Fars news agency, came amid rising tensions between the two countries.
Tehran has labelled Channel 14 as a hub for “propaganda and support for terrorism,” and Iranian authorities cautioned that the broadcaster’s premises could soon become a direct target for missile strikes. In response, all personnel, including journalists, technical crews, and other staff, were told to evacuate the building immediately.
This warning follows a recent Israeli strike on the headquarters of Iranian state television, which occurred live on air. The explosion occurred during a broadcast on the IRIB TV3 channel, underscoring the intensity of the ongoing conflict.
The developments come in the wake of Israel’s launch of Operation Rising Lion on June 13. As part of the operation, the Israeli military targeted several nuclear facilities in Iran and claimed to have eliminated a number of the country’s leading nuclear scientists.
Israel stated that the offensive was a response to Iran’s continued efforts to advance its nuclear programme.
