Iranian FM briefs Egyptian counterpart on nuclear talks in Geneva
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi briefed his Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdelatty on the latest round of indirect negotiations between Iran and the United States during a telephone conversation on February 27.
Araghchi outlined developments from the third round of indirect Iran–U.S. talks held the day before in Geneva, Caliber.Az reports per Iranian media.
During the call, the two ministers also exchanged views on bilateral relations and broader regional developments.
Araghchi reiterated Iran’s commitment to diplomacy as a means of resolving outstanding issues, stating that progress on the diplomatic track depends on “seriousness and realism” from the other side, as well as the avoidance of miscalculation or exaggeration.
The third round of indirect talks between Tehran and Washington concluded in Geneva on February 26. Talks were mediated by Oman’s foreign minister and involved US envoys and Iran’s top diplomat, with both sides agreeing to reconvene technical discussions next week in Vienna as they assess proposals and consult their capitals.
