Iranian FM says Tehran to raise Gaza in talks with US, mediators
Iran plans to raise the situation in the Gaza Strip in its negotiations with the United States and mediators, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said during a phone call with senior Hamas official Bassem Naim.
Araghchi said Iranian negotiators intended to discuss the humanitarian situation in Gaza, violations of the ceasefire and the condition of the civilian population, Tasnim news agency reported.
During the call, Araghchi reaffirmed Iran’s support for the Palestinian cause and said Tehran would continue backing the Palestinian people until their “legitimate national rights” were fully achieved.
The Iranian foreign minister said support for Palestine remained a “principled and permanent policy” of the Islamic Republic and added that Tehran would continue to raise the issue of Israeli actions against Palestinians in its diplomatic contacts and at international forums.
