Iranian FM travels to Doha for OIC meeting
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has travelled to Qatar to attend a meeting of foreign ministers from member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Doha, the Iranian Foreign Ministry stated on its Telegram channel.
“The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic departed for Doha on the morning of September 14 to participate in the OIC foreign ministers’ meeting,” the statement said.
The OIC meeting is expected to discuss Israel's actions, Gaza developments, and broader regional stability, with Iranian President Pezeshkian scheduled to attend a follow-up Islamic-Arab summit in Doha on September 15, 2025.
On September 9, Israel struck Hamas’s leadership in the Qatari capital, an act that has drawn widespread international condemnation.
Hamas confirmed that five of its members, including the son of senior leader Khalil al-Hayya, were martyred in the strike. A member of Qatar’s security forces was also killed.
