Iranian FM warns US, UAE against prolonged military escalation in Hormuz
Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi has warned that escalating military activity in the Strait of Hormuz risks deepening the ongoing crisis, urging a political resolution instead.
“Events in Hormuz make clear that there's no military solution to a political crisis. As talks are making progress with Pakistan's gracious effort, the U.S. should be wary of being dragged back into quagmire by ill-wishers. So should the UAE. Project Freedom is Project Deadlock,” Araghchi wrote on X, Caliber.Az reports.

As talks are making progress with Pakistan's gracious effort, the U.S. should be wary of being dragged back into quagmire by ill-wishers. So should the UAE.
Project Freedom is Project Deadlock.
A reminder that US President Donald Trump announced an operation, named “Project Freedom,” to escort vessels stranded in the Strait of Hormuz on May 3.
He noted that many countries have expressed concern over vessels “trapped” in the strait and said US officials have been instructed to guarantee their safe exit.
