Iranian missile strike injures 58 in northern Israel
A missile attack launched from Iran on the northern areas of Israel has left 58 people injured, according to Israel’s national emergency medical service.
The Magen David Adom said one person was hospitalised with a moderate shrapnel wound, while 57 others sustained minor injuries, most of them caused by shattered glass during the strike. All those injured were transported by ambulance crews to nearby hospitals, The Jerusalem Post reports, citing information from the emergency service.
A medic who arrived at the scene said that several homes were seriously damaged and windows were blown out by the blast. Among the injured was a 34-year-old woman who suffered a shrapnel wound to her back, and her condition was assessed as moderate.
Meanwhile, Haaretz reported that one of the missiles struck a residential neighbourhood in Zarzir, an Arab community in the Jezreel Valley.
The impact completely destroyed one of the houses in the area, according to the report.
