Iranian president offers condolences after death of Khamenei's adviser
Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian has expressed condolences following the death of senior adviser Seyed Kamal Kharazi, head of the Islamic Republic’s Strategic Council on Foreign Relations.
In an official statement, Pezeshkian extended sympathy to Kharazi’s family, the diplomatic community, and the Iranian public, describing the incident as a “terrorist and brutal attack” carried out by “American and Zionist enemies” targeting his residence, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
According to Iranian state television, veteran Iranian diplomat Kharazi died from injuries sustained during a recent air strike on Tehran.
Kharazi previously served as Iran’s foreign minister and as the country’s permanent representative to the United Nations, and was widely regarded as a key figure in shaping Iran’s foreign policy over several decades.
