Iranian president to join Arab and Islamic leaders in Qatar crisis talks
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian is set to travel to Doha to take part in an emergency summit of Islamic and Arab leaders, convened in response to Israel’s latest assault on Qatar.
According to Iranian media outlet Tasnim, the gathering, jointly organised by the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation and the Arab League, will concentrate on mobilising support for Qatar and issuing a strong condemnation of what participants describe as "crimes committed by the Zionist regime".
The emergency summit is scheduled to take place in the Qatari capital on September 13-14. Iran will be represented at the highest level, with President Pezeshkian among the prominent leaders expected to deliver addresses.
According to Tasnim, Pezeshkian’s speech will focus on "denouncing Israeli aggression and reaffirming Iran’s solidarity with Qatar".
