Iraq bars use of its territory for attacks on neighboring states
Iraq has declared that its territory must not be used to carry out attacks against neighbouring countries or external entities, reaffirming its policy of neutrality amid rising regional tensions.
According to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), a high-level security meeting was held in Iraq with the participation of the Chief of Staff of the Iraqi Army and heads of the country’s security agencies.
During the meeting, officials reiterated their commitment to a unified command structure and stressed Iraq’s neutral stance in any conflicts.
Following the discussions, authorities stated that Iraqi territory cannot be used as a platform for attacks against neighbouring states or foreign organisations. A ban was also introduced on conducting armed demonstrations within operational zones.
In addition, Iraqi officials emphasised the need to intensify intelligence efforts to prevent any attempts to destabilise the internal situation in the country.
