Israel confirms strike on Gaza City high-rise tower Photo
The Israeli military has confirmed that its forces struck a multistorey building in Gaza City on September 5, saying the site was used by Hamas to plan and conduct operations against Israeli troops.
According to a statement released by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), the building contained “Hamas terrorist infrastructure” above and below ground. The military said the underground section was used for ambushes and as an escape route, Caliber.Az reports.

“Prior to the attack, numerous steps were taken to avoid civilian casualties, including warning residents, using precision munitions, aerial reconnaissance, and additional intelligence,” IDF spokesperson Avichay Adraee said on X.
The IDF added that it issued an evacuation order before carrying out the strike. Al Jazeera correspondents in Gaza reported that residents were given around 15 minutes to leave the 12-storey Mushtaha tower before the building was destroyed by Israeli fighter jets.
The strike took place in a densely populated area of Gaza City.
