Israel takes out two Hamas commanders in separate Gaza operations
The Israeli military has killed two Hamas commanders in separate operations in the Gaza Strip, according to a joint statement issued by the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) and the Shin Bet security agency.
“On Sunday, the IDF struck in the northern Gaza Strip and eliminated the terrorist Ahmad Yahya Ibrahim Batsh, a Hamas Nukhba cell commander.
Throughout the war, including in recent days, Batsh advanced terror attacks against IDF troops operating in the Gaza Strip.
Additionally, yesterday (Monday), the IDF struck in the southern Gaza Strip and eliminated the terrorist Hamouda Abu Daqa, a commander in Hamas’ Military Intelligence Unit.
The terrorist was engaged in gathering intelligence on IDF troops to direct and execute terror attacks against IDF troops, and posed an immediate threat to the troops operating in the area.
Prior to the strikes, steps were taken to mitigate harm to civilians, including the use of precise munitions and aerial surveillance,” the Israeli military said.
The IDF added that forces under the Southern Command remain deployed in the area in accordance with existing agreements and “will continue to operate to remove any immediate threat.”
