Italian MoD says no artillery within sixth aid package to Ukraine

Defense Minister Guido Crosetto, in an interview with La Stampa newspaper, has said that the new sixth package of military assistance to Ukraine does not contain artillery and ground assets.

Crosetto refused to comment on the content of the decrees adopted by the previous Italian government.

“I cannot speak about the content of the decrees adopted by the previous government. What will be adopted by this government does not provide for artillery weapons,” he explained.

The minister added that the country's parliament would be informed in due time about the specific content of the assistance package. He also said the volume of assistance to Kyiv will never exceed Rome's own defence capabilities.
