Kataib Hezbollah extends pause on attacks on US Embassy in Baghdad
The Iraqi armed group Kataib Hezbollah announced on Friday, March 27, that it is extending for five days its suspension of attacks on the United States Embassy in Baghdad, while accusing several regional countries of facilitating US and Israeli military operations.
In a statement cited by Caliber.Az, the group alleged that Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait have allowed their territories to be used as platforms for US and Israeli strikes against Iraq.

The group’s security spokesperson, Abu Mujahid al-Asaf, said in the statement that “defending the land and holy sites does not require the approval of those who stand with the enemies,” as he criticised ongoing efforts to disarm armed factions.
He further argued that those who “work day and night on the disarmament project” are part of a broader initiative aimed at protecting US and Israeli interests. He accused them of weakening groups that, in his words, “have defended the land and the country in Iraq, Lebanon and elsewhere.”
The announcement follows a similar decision made last Sunday evening, when the group extended a previous suspension of attacks on the US Embassy for another five days. At that time, it warned that it “would respond to violations, including Israeli airstrikes on the southern suburbs of Beirut.”
