Japan Airlines security breach puts data of 28,000 users at risk
Japanese carrier Japan Airlines (JAL) has reported unauthorised access to its baggage delivery booking system, potentially compromising the personal data of around 28,000 users.
The company clarified that the affected data may include information from customers who used the service since July 10, 2024, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
Potentially exposed details include names, email addresses, and phone numbers, as well as flight and baggage delivery information such as departure and arrival airports, destination hotels, and service costs. JAL emphasised that bank card numbers and passwords were not affected.
The baggage delivery service has been temporarily suspended, and the airline confirmed that the incident has not impacted flight operations or other company services.
