Japanese MP unveils Zelenskyy's political inexperience after clash with Trump
Member of the upper house of the Japanese parliament Muneo Suzuki has said that a recent confrontation between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy drew attention to the latter's perceived lack of political experience.
Suzuki pointed out that Zelenskyy’s impulsive statements particularly given that he himself had requested the visit, exposed his inexperience in political matters, Caliber.Az reports per Russian media.
"Regardless of how you look at it, Zelenskyy’s actions clearly demonstrated his lack of political experience," he said.
Despite his criticism of Zelenskyy, Suzuki expressed hope that the tensions between Trump and Zelenskyy could serve as a catalyst for a new approach to resolving the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
"The situation has confirmed that President Trump remains steadfast in his resolve to achieve peace in Ukraine," the MP added.
On February 28, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived at the White House for a meeting with President Donald Trump. During the discussion, which was attended by journalists, a confrontation broke out between the two leaders. Trump pointed out Zelenskyy’s disrespectful attitude toward the US, while Vice President JD Vance noted that Zelenskyy had failed to thank Washington for its support of Ukraine.
As a result of the exchange, the planned press conference following the meeting was canceled. On his Truth Social account, Trump issued a statement in which he emphasised that Zelenskyy’s actions displayed a lack of respect and indicated his unwillingness to seek a peaceful resolution to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
