Azerbaijan-Georgia remittances show sharp fluctuations in 2025
Remittances between Azerbaijan and Georgia experienced notable shifts in 2025, according to data from the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.
Funds sent by individuals from Azerbaijan to Georgia, excluding capital transactions, fell to $26.2 million, marking a 41.6% decline compared with 2024. The share of these remittances in the total volume sent abroad from Azerbaijan also dropped, from 8.5% to 5.2%, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
Conversely, remittances flowing from Georgia to Azerbaijan increased significantly. Individuals in Georgia transferred a total of $43.6 million to Azerbaijan, a 23.3% rise from the previous year. The share of these inflows in Azerbaijan’s total remittance receipts rose from 3.3% to 3.7% during the same period.
