Journalist Gasparyan urges caution in Russian media statements on Azerbaijan

Russian journalist and radio presenter Armen Gasparyan has urged bloggers and members of Russia’s socio-political community to exercise greater caution when making public statements about Azerbaijan.

Speaking on the Solovyov LIVE programme, Gasparyan commented on recent provocative remarks about Azerbaijan in the Russian media and information space.

He warned that inflammatory statements could have diplomatic consequences and potentially trigger new tensions between Moscow and Baku.

“I have said many times that our bloggers in the socio-political sphere should, at least occasionally, ask themselves how their words will be interpreted. When they [Russian bloggers – ed.] made such statements, they realised that sooner or later this would reach Baku and would then lead to another international scandal,” Gasparyan said.
