"Justice for Khojaly!" information campaign held in various US cities PHOTO
A large information campaign has been held in the American cities of Washington, New York, Miami, Boston, Trenton, Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, Houston and Salt Lake City in connection with the 31st anniversary of the Khojaly genocide.
The event, organised by the head of the Utah-Azerbaijan Friendship Organisation Esmer Garayeva with the support of the State Committee for Work with the Diaspora, was held as part of the international propaganda and agitation campaign "Justice for Khojaly", Trend reports with reference to the State Committee for Work with the Diaspora.
During the campaign, cars with LED screens reflecting the Khojaly realities moved through the crowded central streets of the cities.
The screen displayed the flag, the map of Azerbaijan, the names and photographs of the victims of the Khojaly genocide. The images were accompanied by slogans and appeals "Justice for Khojaly!", "Recognise the Khojaly genocide", "Armenia's crime against humanity", "Genocide committed by Armenia in one night in Khojaly", "Armenian leader recognised war crimes", "Azerbaijanis demand justice!", "Karabakh is Azerbaijan!", "Remember Khojaly!", "We remember!", "Pray for Khojaly!", "63 children were killed in Khojaly, including newborns!", "February 26, 1992. 613 Azerbaijanis were killed, including 106 women, 63 children, 70 elderly people. 1,275 Azerbaijanis were taken hostage. 76 children became disabled. 25 children have lost both parents. 130 children lost one of their parents, 8 families were completely destroyed."
Photos of former Armenian Presidents Robert Kocharyan and Serzh Sargsyan were also shown on the screen, it was reported that these persons are personally responsible for war crimes.
As in previous years, the action aroused great interest among the American public.
It should be recalled that the international campaign "Justice for Khojaly" began in 2008 on the initiative of Heydar Aliyev Foundation Vice-President Leyla Aliyeva.
