Kazakh leader reaffirms strategic partnership in talks with US envoy
Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held talks with Sergio Gor, reaffirming Kazakhstan’s commitment to deepening its strategic partnership with the United States, according to a report by Kazinform.
During the meeting, Tokayev highlighted what he described as a high level of bilateral cooperation and emphasised the importance of expanding engagement across key sectors.
“We highly value the opportunity to discuss a wide range of topical issues and particularly welcome your participation in the C5+1 dialogue on critical minerals. This underscores the strategic importance that the United States attaches to cooperation with Kazakhstan and the entire Central Asia,” he said.
Tokayev also acknowledged Gor’s role in advancing bilateral ties, adding, “I would also like to note your personal contribution to the development of bilateral ties. Kazakhstan is firmly committed to further deepening the enhanced strategic partnership with the United States of America.”
The Kazakh president asked the envoy to convey his regards to Donald Trump and signalled plans for continued high-level engagement.
“Taking this opportunity, I ask you to convey my best wishes and sincere respect to US President Donald Trump. I look forward to meeting him later this year and would like to express my gratitude for the invitation to attend the G20 summit in Miami,” Tokayev said.
