Kazakhstan denies reports about arms shipment to Russia
Reports about the shipment of Kazakh military equipment to Russia, which circulated on social media networks, do not correspond to reality, said the Ministry of Defence of Kazakhstan.
“Regarding the video about the movement of military equipment in Almaty, we inform you that this video shows the movement of military equipment from the central region of the country to the city of Almaty after scheduled combat training. In this regard, we ask citizens not to respond to rumors spread on social networks and trust only official sources of information,” the ministry said in a statement published on the Stop Fake Kazakh portal, created to combat false information, Nur.Kz informs.
Earlier, on social networks, local residents began to disseminate a video showing the transportation of military equipment. The caption claimed the video was shot in Almaty on April 26 while some users alleged that the equipment was being sent to Russia.
