Kazakhstan wants to open Russian-Kazakh schools in Russia's border regions
Kazakhstan's Deputy Education Minister Yedil Ospan said that the country's authorities are considering the possibility of opening joint Russian-Kazakh schools in Russian border regions.
Earlier, Kazakh President Kasym-Jomart Tokayev made such a proposal.
Ospan said on the sidelines of the Kazakh Senate session that the issue of opening schools in several subjects of the Russian Federation is being "worked out".
According to him, schools will be built on the principle of parity: Russian authorities will build several educational institutions in Kazakhstan, Kazakhstani - as many in Russia, notes Sputnik Kazakhstan.
In particular, within the framework of this program, three schools teaching in Russian may appear in the south of Kazakhstan (in Turkestan, Kyzylorda and Zhambyl regions).
It is not specified in which Russian regions the opening of Kazakh-language schools is being discussed.
