Kremlin aide signals upcoming visit by US negotiators
US presidential envoy Steve Witkoff is expected to visit Russia “in the near future,” according to Kirill Dmitriev, who shared the information with journalist Alexander Yunashev. No specific dates or further details about the planned trip were disclosed.
The anticipated visit follows previous contacts between US negotiators and Russian officials, with the last such trip having taken place at the end of January.
US involvement in negotiations related to Ukraine was later suspended after the launch of a military operation by the United States and Israel against Iran.
Earlier, on May 10, Yuri Ushakov said that Witkoff, along with businessman Jared Kushner, could travel to Russia “quite soon.”
At the same time, the Russian Foreign Ministry indicated that Ukraine had not expressed interest in resuming negotiations.
