Kremlin: Armenia being artificially pushed to crossroads
Armenia’s authorities are being artificially pushed to a crossroads in choosing between a European development path and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov has stated.
Speaking on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), he said Russia is convinced that the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) is more beneficial for Armenia than an orientation toward Europe, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
“We are convinced that if you put Euro-orientation and EAEU orientation on the scales, the EAEU outweighs for Armenia. It is more beneficial for Armenians. It is more beneficial — they earn more money in the EAEU, they have a better future with the EAEU, they develop faster with the EAEU. This will not be the case with Europe,” he added.
The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum is being held this year from June 3 to 6.
