Kremlin: Armenia’s EAEU membership to be addressed by December

01 June 2026 17:54

Russia expects all outstanding issues related to Armenia’s participation in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) to be discussed and resolved by December, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said.

Speaking to reporters, Peskov said the framework for addressing the matter had already been outlined in a joint statement issued by the leaders of the EAEU member states. He noted that relevant government agencies had been instructed to prepare reports for further review by the heads of state, Caliber.Az reports via local media

“All this is to be discussed by December,” Peskov said, adding that work on the issue is ongoing.

The Kremlin spokesperson also revealed that Russian President Vladimir Putin and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan discussed Armenia’s participation in the EAEU during a recent telephone conversation.

According to Peskov, the leaders reviewed all aspects of Armenia’s involvement in the regional economic bloc, including issues covered in the joint statement adopted by EAEU leaders.

He said the call followed discussions held during the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in Astana, where regional economic integration and cooperation among member states were key topics on the agenda.
