Kremlin: No surprise in Trump’s renewal of anti-Russian sanctions
14 April 2025 17:21
Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said that US President Donald Trump's extension of the anti-Russian sanctions imposed by his predecessor Joe Biden is an automatic action, no other decision was expected.
“It would hardly be worth expecting another decision, especially these are quite automatic actions,” the Kremlin spokesman said, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
He explained that Moscow and Washington are only at the beginning of the path of normalization of bilateral relations, so the Russian Federation did not have inflated expectations about the US actions.
On April 12, Trump extended for a year the package of anti-Russian sanctions imposed by his predecessor Joe Biden.
