Kremlin: Russia working systemically to mitigate oil sanctions’ impact

01 June 2022 16:07

Dmitriy Peskov, a spokesman for Russian President Vladimir Putin, has said that Moscow is doing its best to mitigate the effects of the European Union's partial embargo on Russian oil.

"Of course, we are working to redirect the released volumes to alternative markets. These are purposeful, systematic steps that will allow us to minimise the negative consequences [of the oil sanctions]," Gazeta.Ru quotes him as telling a briefing on June 1.

Peskov stated that Europe is also "not free" from the negative consequences of its own decisions and sanctions against Moscow.
