Kremlin: Russian envoy Dmitriev not involved in Ukraine peace talks with US
Russian presidential spokesperson Dmitry Peskov has said that presidential envoy Kirill Dmitriev is not involved in negotiations with the United States on a settlement in Ukraine, as he is working with an economic-focused group.
He added that the envoy heads a group dealing with economic issues and is working strictly within that mandate, Caliber.Az reports, citing Reuters.
Earlier reports said Dmitriev was on a working visit to the United States and participating in talks with representatives of President Donald Trump’s administration.
The Russia-Ukraine war (now in its fifth year) continues with intense fighting, large-scale Russian aerial attacks, Ukrainian long-range strikes on Russian infrastructure, and slow territorial shifts on the frontline.
A rare short-term Orthodox Easter ceasefire has been announced, but broader peace talks remain stalled amid ongoing military pressure.
