Kremlin says Europe intensifying confrontation with Russia

The European Union is escalating its confrontation with Russia, further heightening tensions across the continent, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said.

Speaking at a briefing, Peskov made it clear that the EU's actions were contributing to an already tense security environment in Europe, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.

"This factor [the EU's escalation toward Russia] is exacerbating the already heightened tensions on the European continent," he emphasised.

"As the European Union develops its own defence identity, it has embarked on a path of militarisation and has committed itself to confrontation with the Russian Federation. That is also beyond doubt. Of course, we cannot ignore this," Peskov added.
