Kremlin says Putin ready for talks with Trump
The Russian side has not yet received any signals from Washington regarding potential future negotiations between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. leader Donald Trump.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov made this statement during a briefing with journalists, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
He noted that the possibility of a meeting is usually discussed by heads of state when they deem it appropriate to organize such negotiations.
Peskov stated that the Russian side has not received any signals so far, and the president’s administration continues to work according to its schedule while remaining open to talks.
“We’ve heard that the same readiness is maintained on the American side. Apparently, some time is needed,” the Kremlin representative added.
Last week, Vladimir Putin, in an interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin, expressed his willingness to meet with Donald Trump to discuss resolving the Ukrainian conflict and other topics. According to the Russian leader, Russia is always open to cooperation, and the strained state of US-Russia relations is solely due to the unwillingness of former US President Joe Biden’s administration to engage in dialogue.
