Kremlin says Russia to intensify pressure on Kyiv
02 July 2026 14:56
Russia will continue to increase pressure on Kyiv to achieve its stated objectives, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov has said.
He noted that Russian Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov briefed President Vladimir Putin on July 2 on the results of what the Kremlin described as a large-scale retaliatory strike on targets in Kyiv and other populated areas of Ukraine, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
"The strikes were carried out exclusively against military and military-related facilities," Peskov stressed.
Russia launched a large-scale overnight attack on Kyiv with ballistic missiles and drones in the early hours of Thursday, July 2. At least 17 people were killed in the assault.
