Kyiv seeks Türkiye and other partners to arrange Zelenskyy-Putin meeting
Ukraine has contacted Türkiye and several other countries requesting assistance in organising a potential meeting between President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin, Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said.
Sybiha noted that the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has made direct appeals to Türkiye, as well as to unspecified other capitals, seeking support in arranging the meeting, Caliber.Az reports citing Ukrainian media.
However, he ruled out Moscow and Minsk as possible venues for talks.
“We asked the Turks about this, and we asked certain other capitals. We approached Turkey specifically. But if any other capital, besides Moscow and Belarus, organizes such a meeting, we will go. And this is important to us,” the minister said.
He added that Ukraine is interested in holding such a meeting in order to “get new diplomatic momentum.”
