Kyrgyz Mi-8 defence helicopter suffers hard landing All on board survived

A Mi-8 helicopter belonging to the Kyrgyz Ministry of Defence has made a hard landing.

According to the ministry’s press service, the crew was undertaking an evacuation of deceased and injured mountaineers when the incident took place, Caliber.Az reports.

The landing took place under high-altitude conditions and challenging weather.

The helicopter carried crew members and mountain rescue personnel involved in the operation.

All on board survived, although several sustained injuries of varying severity that are not life-threatening.

Specialist teams have been dispatched to assist with the evacuation of the injured.

The Ministry of Defence continues its rescue operation and is taking all necessary measures to ensure the safety of personnel and the completion of the evacuation.
