Lavrov warns against “paper tiger” label for Russia
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has cautioned against comparisons portraying Russia as a “paper tiger,” warning that such assessments are misguided.
Speaking on the issue, Lavrov referenced remarks by former US President Donald Trump, who had previously used the same term in relation to NATO.
“Maybe someone calls us a paper tiger, just as Trump called NATO that, but I would warn against such parallels,” Lavrov emphasised, according to TASS.
The Russian foreign minister also pointed to what he described as a defining national characteristic, highlighting patience as a key trait among Russians.
“We say: ‘God endured and told us to endure'. But at some point, patience runs out, and I believe it is even good that no one understands where that red line is,” he said.
