Lawmaker: "Armenia’s master is the citizen of the Republic of Armenia"

Armenian National Assembly member Taron Chakhoyan has weighed in on the ongoing discussion over the possible withdrawal of Russia’s military presence from Armenia.

Responding to comments about the potential departure of Russia’s 102nd Military Base, Chakhoyan rejected the notion that Armenia would lose a source of authority or protection if the Russian forces left the country, Caliber.Az reports per Armenian media. 

“Which of you will be left without a master if the Russian base leaves, as your leader says? If you need a master, go find one for yourselves. Armenia’s master is the citizen of the Republic of Armenia,” Chakhoyan said.
