Loud explosions reported across parts of Russia’s Tula region

Residents of Russia’s Tula region woke to explosions early on February 28, with loud blasts reported in the suburbs of Tula as well as in areas near the cities of Uzlovaya and Novomoskovsk.
According to the Telegram channel Shot, witnesses reported seeing bright flashes in the sky and smoke following the explosions.
Russian air defence forces were initially deployed in response to the incident. Later, the Russian Ministry of Defence said that one unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) belonging to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) had been shot down.
Tula Region Governor Dmitry Milyaev stated that there were no casualties and no damage to infrastructure.
Authorities added that the threat posed by UAVs in the region remains ongoing.
