Lragir: Russia eyes to enslave Armenians

Yesterday's statement by the Russian Embassy in Armenia, in which it sharply condemned the rumors and comments which went viral in Armenia that Russian agencies were involved in the explosion in the Surmalu mall in Yerevan city, continues to be the front and center in the Armenian media and social networks.

So, today the Yerevan-based Lragir website published an editorial article entitled "Russia is moving to direct confrontation with Armenia: time is running out", in which it claims that for Russia relations with Armenia serve only one purpose – "enslavement of Armenians". According to the article's authors, Russia also wants to plunge Armenia into chaos.

"The sharp reaction of the Russian Embassy in Yerevan in connection with the 'cynical misinformation spread in local media, containing blasphemous and false accusations against Russian agencies for their involvement in the tragedy that took place on August 14 this year on the territory of the Surmalu mall' sounds like a confession, as well as any statements by the top officials of Russia about Armenia. Moreover, the embassy mentions in its statement "insinuations aimed at undermining Russian-Armenian allied relations."

What do these relations mean for Russia – only the enslavement of Armenians and the opportunity to solve their problems at the Armenian expense? During the "Armenian-Russian allied relations" millions of Armenians were killed, and 9/10 of the Armenian nation's civilized habitat was lost. In the name of fraternity with the Russians, proletarian solidarity, saving Putin's face. The appropriate mechanisms guarantee the extreme disorientation of the Armenians – "the Turks attack, and the Russians rush to the rescue at the last moment". The work and propaganda of most of the pro-Russian elites who control politics, academic circles, agents, and media in Armenia are aimed at ensuring this mechanism.

Armenians saw all this with their own eyes, especially the demonstrative examples of the Parukh (Farrukh - ed.) - Lachin corridor, hostage-taking of Armenians, ultimatums on deportation, and disarmament. After the Putin-Erdogan pact, Russia shifted to an open confrontation regime with Armenians. Moscow is forcing the implementation of a plan to surrender Karabakh to Baku by moderating Baku's actions.

The same mechanisms and the same actors are operating as 100 years ago - in 1915-1923, and Russia is still the leader of the genocide. But now it is impossible to hide behind the Turks' backs, and the attempts to master plans of genocide with the hands of collaborators in Yerevan and Stepanakert (Khankendi - Ed.) also look doubtful.

Against this background, it is logical that signals about the placement of bombs in Yerevan and attempts to terrorize the population are associated with the realization of anti-Armenian plans. In particular, plans to annex Armenia's south face strong opposition from Iran and the West. There are other circumstances - international norms that can be invoked, as in the case of Ukraine, as well as Russian-Armenian waste paper as "alliance" treaties and obligations that Russia has never fulfilled. To overcome these circumstances, as political scientist Saro Saroyan notes, Russia needs to plunge Armenia into chaos, undermine the state order, and pull off the traditional "Turks attack, Russians 'intervene and save'" method, already in the form of a new annexation.

The annexation of southern Armenia and the direct link to Russia's only bulwark, Türkiye, is a matter of life and death for the Kremlin's kleptocratic regime. The sharp reaction of the Russian embassy and the directive to the Armenian authorities is evidence of Russia's head-to-head confrontation against Armenia.
