Lukashenko vows Belarus will stand firm against any threat
Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said Belarus remains committed to peace but will not submit to any external threat, speaking at a ceremony honoring graduates of higher military educational institutions and senior military officers in Minsk on July 6.
Lukashenko stressed that the Belarusian people have no desire for war but are prepared to defend their country if necessary, BelTA news agency reports.
“The Belarusian people endured unimaginable trials during the years of fascist occupation and reject war at the genetic level,” the president said.
Emphasizing Belarus's commitment to peace, Lukashenko added: “We are peaceful people, we do not want to fight, but we have no intention of bowing our heads before an enemy either.”
