Magnitude 5.4 earthquake hits Russia’s Kamchatka region

A magnitude 5.4 earthquake has been recorded in Russia’s Kamchatka region, according to the Russian Academy of Sciences’ Unified Geophysical Service.
It said the epicentre was located approximately 94 kilometres from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, while the earthquake’s focus was at a depth of 44 kilometres, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
Officials said they received no information about any damage or other consequences.
They noted that between August 10 and 16, 14 notable seismic events were recorded off the coast of Kamchatka.
