Masks made mandatory in 11 Russian regions
The authorities in 11 Russian regions have made wearing masks in public places mandatory once more.
In the remaining 85 regions of the country, such protective equipment is only required when visiting medical institutions, TASS reports citing local administrations.
As noted, the requirements for compliance with the mask regime are less strict than at the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic. So, in the Ulyanovsk region, they were obliged to wear masks only in public transport, pharmacies and social service organisations. And in the Trans-Baikal Territory, state authorities have been added to this list.
In the Altai Republic, several categories of citizens need to wear masks, including employees of trade, catering establishments, transport, banks, post offices, and reception services for citizens in government. At the same time, in the Smolensk region, visitors to the institutions of the Federal Penitentiary Service should also do this, if a meeting with prisoners is held without dividing glasses.
It is also necessary to wear masks in public places, in state and medical institutions and on public transport in Buryatia. And in Tuva, such protective equipment should be worn indoors and at mass outdoor events. It is also mandatory to do this on transport or social institutions in Sakhalin, Khabarovsk Territory, Arkhangelsk, Belgorod and Smolensk regions.
Furthermore, the authorities of the Nizhniy Novgorod region have requested that masks be worn at the entrance to those rooms that are not further processed.
