Israel creates Magen Oz corridor, dividing Khan Yunis in southern Gaza VIDEO
The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) have successfully completed a major operation in the Khan Yunis area of the southern Gaza Strip, establishing a key corridor named “Magen Oz.”
According to a statement released by the IDF press service and reported by Caliber.Az, this corridor effectively divides western Khan Yunis, home to several refugee camps, from its eastern part.
The length of the “Magen Oz” corridor is about 15 km. The IDF states that it “is a key element in exerting pressure on Hamas and in the defeat of the Khan Yunis Brigade.”
During the operation, dozens of militants were eliminated, and infrastructure was discovered and destroyed, including weapons caches and underground tunnels.
Thus, at present, the southern Gaza Strip is divided into three parts: the previously established “Morag” corridor separates Rafah from Khan Yunis, which is now split in two. This enables more effective fighting against armed groups in the southern Gaza area and facilitates humanitarian zones.
