Media: Chechen units signal support for Iran in case of US invasion

Chechen military units have expressed readiness to deploy to Iran to support the country’s armed forces in the event of a ground operation by the United States, according to Iran’s Press TV.

The report states that forces loyal to Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov have framed the ongoing conflict involving the United States and Israel against Iran as a religious war.

According to Press TV, these forces describe any potential direct intervention as a “jihad,” characterising it as a battle between good and evil in defence of Iran against US forces and their allies.
