Media: Türkiye issues final warning to PKK/YPG “Lay Down Arms or Be Eliminated”

26 December 2024 15:25

Türkiye's Ministry of National Defence is collaborating with the new Syrian administration in the fields of defence and security and coordinating efforts in the fight against terrorism.

It was emphasized that the PKK/YPG terrorist organization has no option other than to lay down its arms, Caliber.Az reports per Hürriyet

"We believe that Türkiye's strong defence industry infrastructure, experience in defence technologies, and its military, which is used as a model by many countries due to its experience in combating terrorism, will make a significant contribution to improving Syria's security and defence capabilities," the sources stated.

"The countdown for the PKK/YPG terrorists has begun. A large-scale plan is in motion. The PKK will be eradicated not only in Syria but also in Türkiye. Either they lay down their arms, or they will be eliminated themselves, or they will be forced to surrender and eliminated," the statement read.

To recap, the PKK, a group designated as a terrorist organization by Türkiye, the US, and the EU, has been responsible for over 40,000 deaths during its 40-year campaign of violence against Türkiye, targeting civilians, including women, children, and the elderly.

The YPG is the Syrian offshoot of the PKK, and for years, it has aimed to create a terrorist corridor along Türkiye’s border.

In recent years, Türkiye has deployed troops to the region and collaborated with local allies, such as the Syrian National Army, to prevent the establishment of this corridor and to safeguard local populations from terrorist threats.
