Media: Drone attack strikes police, military unit in Russia’s Grozny
The Special Purpose Police Unit and the 2nd Regiment in Russia's Chechnya Republic were attacked by using drones on December 15.
Several explosions occurred in Grozny in the morning, caused by drone attacks, Caliber.Az reports per Ukrainian media.
Witnesses stated that the size of the drone was comparable to a small aircraft. The Chechen authorities have not commented on the attack yet.
On December 4, the Kadyrov Police Regiment in Grozny was attacked. The assault occurred at around 4:50 (GMT+3). A "Carpet" plan was activated at the local airport, resulting in one flight to Moscow being delayed.
On the night of December 11, the Russian city of Taganrog was hit by a missile attack. The target of the strike may have been the Taganrog Aviation Scientific and Technical Complex named after G.M. Beriev. Later, aviation expert Anatoly Kharpchinsky described the significance of the attack on Taganrog.
He said that this is the only facility capable of repairing or servicing Tu-95MS aircraft, which are equipped with X-101 and X-55 cruise missiles. The facility also manufactures A-50 aircraft.
