Media: Hezbollah sets condition for halting strikes on Israel
Deputy Secretary-General of the Lebanese Shiite movement Hezbollah, Sheikh Naim Qassem has said that Hezbollah will halt its strikes on Israel upon a ceasefire declared by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
“The only solution is a ceasefire, and we will continue if the enemy does not stop,” Qassem stated, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
He urged Israeli citizens not to take the statements of Israeli politicians at face value and to consider the repercussions of the group's attacks.
Qassem specified that a complete cessation of IDF operations is a prerequisite for Hezbollah to cease its strikes on Israel.
He warned that if Israeli military actions persist, the group would escalate its attacks across Israeli territory, mentioning specific strikes aimed at Tel Aviv and Haifa.
Earlier, Qassem stated that Hezbollah has decided to make Israel "feel pain".
He mentioned that the group's leadership has opted to implement a new course of action despite calls for a ceasefire.
Israeli forces have conducted hundreds of airstrikes on southern Lebanon, as well as in the Bekaa valley and Baalbek regions since September 23. A significant event occurred on September 27, when an attack on Beirut resulted in the death of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah. In retaliation for the Israeli strikes, Hezbollah has continued to target Israeli territory with rockets and artillery shells.
