Media: Iran agrees to ceasefire with Israel with US and Qatar's mediation Trump Congratulates “Everyone”

Iran has agreed to a ceasefire with Israel, relaying its message to the United States through Qatari mediation, Caliber.Az reports, citing Reuters.

According to diplomatic sources, Washington proposed a peace plan, which was coordinated with Israeli authorities. Following the agreement, Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani held talks with Tehran and secured Iran’s consent to the truce.

U.S. President Donald Trump spoke with the Emir of Qatar to confirm that Israel had accepted the ceasefire proposal, the sources added.

After securing Israel’s approval, President Trump requested that Qatar persuade Iranian leadership to accept the terms as well. U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance coordinated the details with the office of the Qatari prime minister.

Following the consent to a ceasefire, Trump took to social network Truth Social, posting: "CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE! It has been fully agreed by and between Israel and Iran that there will be a Complete and Total CEASEFIRE." 

Commenting on the ceasefire, however, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said: “As Iran has repeatedly made clear: Israel launched war on Iran, not the other way around. As of now, there is NO ‘agreement’ on any ceasefire or cessation of military operations. However, provided that the Israeli regime stops its illegal aggression against the Iranian people no later than 4 am Tehran time, we have no intention to continue our response afterwards. The final decision on the cessation of our military operations will be made later.”
