Media: Lebanon government rules out any contact with Hezbollah
The Lebanese army has begun preparing a logistical and operational plan for the deployment of forces in pilot areas in southern Lebanon under a framework agreement with Israel, with reports indicating that the government does not maintain direct contact with Hezbollah in this process.
According to Nidaa Al-Watan, implementation of the plan may take several weeks. However, sources cited by the newspaper stressed that the slower pace does not indicate a deadlock in the process.
At the same time, it is noted that since the start of talks with Israel, there have been no direct contacts between the government of Lebanon and representatives of Hezbollah. According to the report, tensions between Hezbollah and Lebanese President Joseph Aoun are among the factors complicating dialogue, with Hezbollah accusing him of “treason.”
The situation is described as effectively frozen, particularly due to the limited influence of Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri. Sources also claim that key decisions within Hezbollah are being made in Tehran, where attention is currently focused on funeral ceremonies for Iran’s late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
