Media reveals secret plan for future of Gaza
An anonymous group of high-ranking officials calling themselves a “group of businessmen” has developed a specific plan, which has already been presented to US administration officials, according to Maariv website columnist Ben Caspit.
As Detaly.co.il reports, the secret plan consists of the following steps:
- The creation of a full-fledged Israeli military administration that will distribute humanitarian aid and take care of the needs of the residents of the Gaza Strip.
- Creation of an international coalition of Arab countries, which will include Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Morocco, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and others. The coalition will become one of the parties to the regional agreement on the normalization of relations, which will be signed later.
- The creation, under the auspices of the inter-Arab coalition, of a “new Palestinian Authority”, whose officials will not be associated with Hamas, but will not be directly associated with the current Abu Mazen guard.
- The moment Israel transfers control of the Gaza Strip to this administration, the military administration will be abolished. But Israel reserves the right to act for security purposes in the Gaza Strip as it does in Judea and Samaria, based on the operational needs of the fight against terror.
- Once the situation in the Gaza Strip has stabilized and if the “new Palestinian Authority” is successful, comprehensive reform will be carried out in Judea and Samaria. It will touch on various areas of life, from the fight against terror to curriculum materials in schools. Two to four years are allotted for this stage.
- Israel will agree to recognize a demilitarized Palestinian state on the territory of the Palestinian Authority and will discuss the possibility of transferring additional territories to this state that will not require the evacuation of Jewish settlements.
This is the plan presented to the White House. Who is behind the “group of businessmen”? Ben Caspit writes that there are more than one or two participants in it - those close to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Caspit noted that this program is not the only one. At the same time, an alternative program for a peaceful “day after tomorrow” is being developed under the leadership of the coordinator of government action in the Palestinian territories, Ghassan Alian. The IDF and Shin Bet are preparing their plans.
