Media: Türkiye condemns Hellenic Air Force over insensitive post after C-130 crash PHOTO
Türkiye has criticised the Hellenic Air Force following an insensitive social media post in the wake of a deadly crash involving a Turkish military plane.
The Air Force initially posted a photograph of a C-130 aircraft on its official social media account with the caption “Photo of the day,” which provoked widespread condemnation in Türkiye, Caliber.Az reports, citing Yeni Şafak. The post was subsequently deleted.
AK Party Deputy Chairman and Head of Media and Promotion, Faruk Acar, denounced the post, stating, “Respect your limits, or we will notify you. You are well aware of this.”

Following the backlash, the Hellenic Air Force published a condolence letter signed by its commander, formally expressing sympathy to Türkiye over the loss of its soldiers.
The C-130 cargo aircraft, operated by the Turkish Armed Forces, was returning from Azerbaijan to Türkiye when it disappeared from radar 27 minutes after take-off.
It later crashed in a mountainous area within the Sighnaghi municipality of Georgia’s Kakheti region, killing all 20 soldiers on board.
The remains of the servicemen were repatriated to Türkiye aboard the military transport aircraft Koca Yusuf.
