Mine collapse in Russia’s Magadan leaves several workers missing

A mine collapse has occurred in Russia’s Magadan region, with up to eight people believed to be trapped under debris, emergency officials have said.

Rescue teams have been dispatched to the scene, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations stated that the report about the incident came from the Kadykchansky coal open-pit mine in the Susumansky urban district.

Firefighters, mining rescue units, and medical teams have been deployed to the site.

A Mi-8 helicopter from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations is also being prepared for takeoff to assist in the response operation.
